I’m thrilled to share that I’ve got a foxy watercolor in this lovely exhibit – Outfoxed, at True North Gallery in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, opening this weekend, April 30th. I’ll be on the opposite side of the country at the San Diego Artwalk this Saturday and Sunday, so I’ll miss the opening, but if you’re on the east coast, and near South Hamilton, stop by and enjoy this beautifully curated show. You can read more about it on the gallery web site here.
Just slap anything on when you see a blank canvas staring you in the face like some imbecile. You don’t know how paralyzing that is, that stare of a blank canvas, which says to the painter, ‘You can’t do a thing’. The canvas has an idiotic stare and mesmerizes some painters so much that they turn into idiots themselves. Many painters are afraid in front of the blank canvas, but the blank canvas is afraid of the real, passionate painter who dares and who has broken the spell of `you can’t’ once and for all.

A gorgeous little watercolour Belinda.
Thank you, Sonia. It was spontaneous and fun. I hope your brushes are dancing too. 🙂
Just double-identity me again: I found some interesting interpretations of fox symbolism here: http://www.whats-your-sign.com/fox-animal-symbolism.html
Yes, now I’m definitely convinced of this good omen – its a perfect fit! And if it wasn’t for your blog, I’d never would have known. Thank you!
Now that’s a different theme! Congrats on having your lovely “foxy” painting included! Two days ago, I was sketching on the beach near my home and I saw a fox heading for the cliffs……Since I’d been there for almost 2 hours, I figured it was time to pack up, not being sure how safe it was to be around wildlife. But reading your blog today made me think that perhaps the sighting should be interpreted as a much needed good omen! (by the way, my wordpress username is now showing — I’m a.k.a. Gayle, the one who sent you the quotes and is finishing up a second list)
Hi Gayle! Your sketching session on the beach sounds divine! And yes, I’d absolutely take the little fox visit as a good omen. I had a similar encounter with an island fox (about the size of a house cat) hiking alone on Santa Cruz Island, and it was magical. Smart, cunning and cute little creatures. What a nice presence to encounter while making art!
