Sunshine Snooze 5×7 Watercolor (sold)

Thanks for all the great thoughts & feedback about pros and cons of written details on art in the last post.  I agree with your generous conclusions, and so I’ll continue with my yammering on this blog. 🙂

This is Sunny, curled under a shaft of sunlight, which he tracked like a satellite, especially after he got older and more fragile. We layered soft cushions by his favorite windows to protect his boney parts from hard surfaces. Sunny and five furry siblings were born in my husband’s laundry basket when a stray cat started charming her way into his heart before he became aware of her condition. She strategically gave birth to six kittens in his closet on Halloween while we watched in wonder and cooed her on.  We found homes for everyone. Four of the everyones stayed with us, which re-ignited our dormant-since-childhood love affair with kitties. ♥

Art Quote

Surely something wonderful is sheltered inside you. I say this with all confidence, because I happen to believe we are all walking repositories of buried treasure. I believe this is one of the oldest and most generous tricks the universe plays on us human beings, both for its own amusement and for ours: The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them.

The hunt to uncover those jewels – that’s creative living.

The courage to go on that hunt in the first place – that’s what separates a mundane existence from a more enchanted one.
