On a scrap of Arches 300 lb watercolor paper: this started as ball-point pen doodle after dinner while having tea with family, and later, in the studio, I added watercolor washes, colored pencil & hand-carved rubber stamps.

Actually, it goes the other way
Wouldn’t it be great to be gifted? In fact…
It turns out that choices lead to habits.
Habits become talents.
Talents are labeled gifts.
You’re not born this way, you get this way.
I really like the way you are including the stamped patterns in some of your work. Recently I have been using gesso stamped background patterns and then painting my subject on top. The idea is to have a subtle hint of pattern interwoven with the main focus. However, sometimes it ends up being too intrusive, so I think I will give your method a try next time.
@laura – Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you have loads of fun while experimenting!
Merci, @martina – je l’espère vous rencontrez le succès dans votre art aussi!
Bonjour,
Toutes mes félicitations à la gagnante !
Une très belle oeuvre qui devrait lui plaire énormément.
Gros bisous ❊
I love your video demonstrating the process of creating a portrait of your aunt and uncle. What a great project! I really want to give it a try because you demonstrated it so clearly. Thanks!
